We are delighted to feature At The Racket as our headline band for our Boyne TradFest concert, supported by Droichead Arts Centre from 8:00pm.
At The Racket is one of Ireland’s most distinctive traditional music groups, formed in 1996 and inspired by the Irish-American dance-band tradition of the 1920s and 1930s. Founded by John Carty, the band combines outstanding musicianship with infectious energy, drawing on rare historic recordings while creating fresh, contemporary arrangements.
The current line-up features John Carty (banjo/fiddle), Brian McGrath (piano/banjo), Séamus O’Donnell (saxophone), and Michael McCague (guitar/bouzouki). Renowned for lively performances, the group has appeared at festivals and concerts across Ireland and internationally. Their work preserves and revitalises Ireland’s rich musical heritage, celebrating the enduring spirit of traditional Irish dance-band music. Concert kicks off from 8:00pm in Droichead Arts Centre from 8:00pm (Doors 7:30pm).
