Catalyst Residency Recipient 2026 announcement: Patrícia Guimarães

Create and Fire Station Artists’ Studios (FSAS) are delighted to announce Patrícia Guimarães as the recipient of the 2026 Catalyst Residency Award.

Patrícia is a Brazilian visual artist based in Dublin, working across photography and collaborative practices. She is now interested in developing this direction further through support and shared conversations, to better understand how to sustain and expand this work within her community of creative practitioners in Dublin.

The residency offers Patrícia the opportunity to be mentored by a range of practitioners; it is designed to enable her to step away from her everyday responsibilities and instead immerse herself in a dedicated period of reflection, mentoring, peer-to-peer conversation and strategic networking.

 

 

Communicating your Practice: for NEIC artists

Join multidisciplinary artist Cathy Coughlan for a practical workshop to help you communicate your practice with confidence and clarity. Whether you’re writing a funding application, aren’t quite sure of the difference between an artist’s bio and an artist’s statement, or need support finding the right words to describe what you do, this session will help you find language that feels true to you while also meeting the expectations of different audiences. This is a supportive space for creative practitioners at any stage. 

This session is offered as part of the North East Inner City (NEIC) Community Arts Programme, managed by Create.

Hina Khan is a Pakistani Irish artist based in County Cork. Khan’s practice encompasses painting and drawing, ranging from miniatures informed by the traditional visual language of the Indian subcontinent to large-scale scrolls influenced by contemporary Western expressionist movements. She demonstrates a sustained engagement with history and memory, as well as an emphasis on emotion and spirituality, through symbolism and experimentation rooted in technical proficiency. This exhibition is produced by SIRIUS and curated by Miguel Amado, Director of SIRIUS.

New part time MA Cultural Policy & Arts Management, University College Dublin (UCD)

The School of Art History and Cultural Policy at UCD is launching a part time offer of their MA in Cultural Policy and Arts Management commencing in September of this year. The programme is delivered in a flexible part-time format, with teaching scheduled one day per week (1.5 days in year two) over three years. The programme is aimed at experienced practitioners and graduate professionals.
